For this assignment I decided to focus on what is going to be a very popular topic this coming week, halloween. For this photo I wanted to include a pumpkin which represents not only halloween, but the fall season as well. Also, the aftermath of the rain helps further demonstrate this time of year because in Vancouver it definitely is known as a very wet season.

For this assignment I took two photos which demonstrate the beauty of rain. The first photo was taken at Cleveland Dam on a very cloudy day. This allowed the clouds to be reflected on the water quite nicely. From the water you are also able to see small bits of the mountain reflected on the water. The second photo is of an underside of a plant. In this photo the light made the leaves lighter and allowed the colour of the berries to be brought out even further. What I enjoyed from this photo was the water droplets dripping from the berries. The water droplets magnifies the background if you look close enough, and the water collected on top the leaves also creates a shadow on the underside of them as well. For this assignment I decided to focus on the colours of fall. All of my photos include trees or leaves which show the change leading into and throughout fall. The third photo which I took is on a day which is not necessarily sunny. I chose to add this because not only do the leaves change colours during this season, but the days also get darker as the months lead to winter. For this assignment I found it difficult to find a subject that was moving fast enough, and also make sure that I was following that subject at the same speed. One picture which was successful was of my mom running. After a few shots I was able to take a photo with the camera moving at the right speed creating an effect of a blurry background with a focused subject. This technique allows viewers to focus on one main subject, rather than having multiple aspects which can be overwhelming at times.
