For this project Pinerest and my own self interest in the object were what inspired my work. Viewing many of the different photos of mechanical objects in different angles and perceptions on Pinterest helped me choose what I envisioned for my end result. I hope that as other people are viewing my art, it will cause them to see the different textures and depth of the camera which they would not typically be focused on in a photo. In order to understand my work the viewer needs to understand the amount of thought that went into this project and how long it took to to create the end result. A significant artist choice I made was to create a textured background with coffee. I wanted to create a background which created an older feel to the drawing. A comment I received which changed my project was to go deeper into the drawing by adding more texture and even incorporate a while pencil for the metal parts of the camera. A challenge I experienced during this project was how the coffee made the paper a light brown rather than white, which was what I needed when trying to draw the metal parts of the camera. I solved this by using a white pencil to simply show the lightest parts of the metal. A strength in my work is the lens, in which I believe that the depth and light are well demonstrated. A significant thing that I have learned while working on this project is how the different types of pencils create very different textures and shades. This can have a great impact on what you are trying to create.
