Since I was very young I have made up stories. From playing dress up with my sister, to playing house with my friends, I lived in an alternate reality where everything was perfect. As a kid I also loved to exaggerate and make up stories, I would tell to my friends, to the point where I would believe they were true as well. This continued on even up until now. Whenever things are looking down I like to believe that things will get better. I like to dream about my future. Where I will be in 5, 10, or even 30 years. Although I know it is most likely not going to be true, I love to think that I will live the happily ever after you read about in fairytales. With the beautiful house and kids and a husband. Although these are only dreams, I like to believe that they will come true one day. The myths of my past and the predictions for my future are unverifiable, but I accept and perpetuate them to create happy memories and hope for myself and for my future wherever I may end up.

One of the most important decisions I have made is going on a Me to We trip to Udaipur, India, and taking part in a trip in Ottawa, Ontario, called Encounters With Canada. These two trips have been the most influential trips of my life. When Mr.Garland approached me asking me if I wanted to take part in this trip I was unsure. After a couple days contemplating this I decided that I might as well go, after all it was only for one week. As soon as I got there and met the people I would be staying with for the week I knew it was going to be amazing. It was absolutely amazing and I met people from all over Canada. The Me to We trip I went on to India was a service trip where I built a health centre in a small town where one was desperately needed. After days of working and being able to see the difference I was making, and meeting the people who would be using this health centre I knew I was contributing to something amazing. In fall I actually withdrew from this trip but after much convincing from my family and teachers, I was persuaded to go and I am very grateful that I went. Some the missed opportunities opportunities I have went through are the sleep overs I missed as a kid. Although this does not seem like a big deal, as a child I got very home sick and every time I went home early I felt guilty and left out. These decisions shaped me for who I am today.
The person who has influenced me most is my mom. Throughout my whole life she has supported every one of my decisions. She is the reason I am able to go to Collingwood school, and have all of the opportunities I have had. From supporting me in choir and multiple plays I was apart of in elementary school, to all of my sports practices and games. She is one of the main reasons for who I am today. Starting at a young age she taught me right from wrong and has comforted me when I was sad, and played with me when I was feeling lonely.
My name is Taylor Morrey. I have lived in the same house my entire life in North Vancouver with my two older siblings. While I was born in Vancouver like my father, my mother is from a small town 2 hours away from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Although I am still living at home with my mom, my brother and sister go to university in Ontario, and although we are many provinces apart we still keep in touch. I would describe myself as cheerful and a little weird (but then again who isn't). All of my experiences have shaped me into who I am today, and I have very little regrets.
