One of the most important decisions I have made is going on a Me to We trip to Udaipur, India, and taking part in a trip in Ottawa, Ontario, called Encounters With Canada. These two trips have been the most influential trips of my life. When Mr.Garland approached me asking me if I wanted to take part in this trip I was unsure. After a couple days contemplating this I decided that I might as well go, after all it was only for one week. As soon as I got there and met the people I would be staying with for the week I knew it was going to be amazing. It was absolutely amazing and I met people from all over Canada. The Me to We trip I went on to India was a service trip where I built a health centre in a small town where one was desperately needed. After days of working and being able to see the difference I was making, and meeting the people who would be using this health centre I knew I was contributing to something amazing. In fall I actually withdrew from this trip but after much convincing from my family and teachers, I was persuaded to go and I am very grateful that I went. Some the missed opportunities opportunities I have went through are the sleep overs I missed as a kid. Although this does not seem like a big deal, as a child I got very home sick and every time I went home early I felt guilty and left out. These decisions shaped me for who I am today.
