I feel that this project could be worked on further. For example, on the sweater more texture could have been brought out by further shading. By improving the depth in both the sweater and the face in general could have improved the piece as a whole.
In this project I used both blind and broken contour line. The majority of the piece was done in contour line, however the right eye was drawn using blind contour. During this project the facial feature which I needed to incorporate into my piece was a mouth. I had trouble placing it because if I were to use it as a mouth on the face then it would be greatly disproportionate. Therefore, I decided to incorporate it in another aspect of my project. I decided to use it as a hair piece as a decorative accessory. With this hair piece I decided to make it stand out by using another primary colour, red. For the rest of this project I used blues for the darker areas of the painting and different shades of yellow to emphasize the lighter parts of the face and sweater. This allowed others to see the depth of different parts of the image and created an overall 3D look. Overall I enjoyed working with Prismacolour and was able to create value with the different colours I used. In the end, this project was successful in parts such as creating depth in the hair, face and neck, however, I believe that I could have improved this piece as a whole by incorporating further detail and texture. Also, with further shading and value this piece could have improved greatly. Therefore, in later assignment I would like to focus more on detail, value, and tone.

I think this is a very successful piece overall. While you can always work more on a piece, I think this composition is strong in rendering and placement of the features. You've done well here, and thank you for such a solid reflection!
